Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

When you install the ByBelt Shopify application, we automatically access certain types of information from your Shopify account using standard API permissions. This includes:

  • Shop details: Your shop name, primary domain name, email address, and physical address.
  • Product Catalog: Product names, descriptions, images, pricing, variants, and stock status to create and sync social posts.
  • Webhook Subscriptions: Real-time triggers on product updates to keep your queues accurate.

2. Social Media & Third-Party Platform Data

To perform auto-posting and content management services, you explicitly authorize ByBelt to connect to your accounts on the following third-party platforms using their official APIs:

  • Meta (Facebook & Instagram): We use the Meta Graph API to publish content to your authorized Facebook Pages and Instagram Business accounts. We store encrypted OAuth access tokens and basic page metadata (e.g., page name, profile picture) for dashboard display.
  • Pinterest: We use the Pinterest API to publish Pins on your behalf to boards you select. We store encrypted OAuth access tokens and basic board/profile metadata (board names, profile display name) solely to facilitate posting functionality within ByBelt. We access only the data necessary to create Pins and display your boards in the app dashboard.
  • TikTok: We use the TikTok Content Posting API to send video and photo drafts to your TikTok inbox for your review and publishing. We store encrypted OAuth access tokens and basic profile metadata (display name, avatar) for dashboard display.
  • X (Twitter): We use the X API v2 to publish tweets on your behalf. We store encrypted OAuth access tokens and basic profile metadata (username, display name) for dashboard display.

We do not access your personal messages, private feed posts, personal profile data, or any analytics/insights data on any of these platforms.

3. Non-Affiliation Disclaimer

ByBelt is an independent application and is not endorsed by, affiliated with, or sponsored by Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Pinterest, TikTok, X (Twitter), or any other third-party platform. All platform names, logos, and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. Our use of their APIs is governed by each platform's respective developer terms of service.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to power and improve the ByBelt core automation platform. This includes:

  • Generating product collage cards matching your templates.
  • Publishing automatically queued items at selected intervals.
  • Processing subscription payments securely via Shopify's billing system.
  • Sending critical service notifications or status updates.

5. Data Retention & Deletion on Disconnect

We retain your store metadata and post histories for as long as your Shopify store has our application installed. If you uninstall ByBelt, we automatically delete all stored OAuth access tokens and store catalogs within 48 hours, in accordance with Shopify's GDPR compliance guidelines.

When you disconnect a social media account (e.g., Pinterest, Meta, TikTok, or X) from within the ByBelt dashboard, we immediately and permanently delete the associated OAuth access tokens and all platform-derived metadata (such as board names, page names, profile information, and any cached content) from our systems. Previously published posts on the respective platform are not affected — they remain on the platform under your account's control.

6. No Resale or Redistribution of Platform Data

We do not sell, resell, license, or redistribute any content or data derived from Pinterest, Meta, TikTok, X, or any other connected platform to any third parties. All platform-derived data is used exclusively for the purpose of providing ByBelt's posting and content management services to you.

7. Security

The security of your store data is critical to us. We secure credentials using industry-standard AES-256 encryption at rest, utilize secure SSL/TLS connections for all data in transit, and host on highly-reliable servers.
